Interaction with Guests
As much or as little as you want. If you would rather arrive and just get on with it, no problem. If you would like ideas of what to do and where then we're here to help. We usually have a host that's available, however this is seasonal, so if that is an important element to your trip check with us first, otherwise, I am always here, if not in person then on email or the phone.
We love our village. Its in a rural setting, our neighbours are brilliant. The local shop has the best bread, the restaurant across the road has great (cheap!) food. We are only 4km as the bird flies to Italy, so we are a small village but we have so many influences. The local history, specifically from World Wars I and II is absolutely fascinating, there are a few local museums that pay tribute to these times that are well worth a visit....just ask us.
We are in a remote corner of the Alps, its quiet, that's great, but it does mean limited public transport.
The closest airports are Trieste, Italy and Klagenfurt, Austria both of which are 1 hour 20 mins away or all Venice airports or Ljubljana are all 2 hours away.
There are local buses with services into Bovec and Tolmin which you can then transfer on to larger towns and cities, but a full schedule can be obtained from the Bovec Tourist Board www.Bovec.si
Other Things to Note
We also have a further 2 chalets, so if you are looking for a larger place, we can accommodation up to 28 people.
We kindly ask you not to smoke in Chalet Soca. We put our heart and soul into it, so we ask you to respect it, as you would your own home. We love dogs, and with prior approval they are welcome, though please not on the furniture. A one off additional cleaning fee is charged per pet.
